It's a Holiday Edition!
From Frank Vest

As you can probably see, this is a Holiday Edition of the Fidonews. It wasn't planned this way, but sometimes things just happen. I found some information, the "rotating" "Food for Thought" happened to come around right and some other things. So... In this weeks edition, we have an article, from me, about Labor Day, a recipe that is quick and easy to fix (can't be doing too much labor on Labor Day :) and much more!

I draw your attention to the calender of holidays in September. I think it would be good to get some articles about holidays in your country or "neck of the woods". One thing about Fidonet that is, or should be, is that we are a community. Yes, we are sometimes far away from each other but, through this wonderful thing called Fidonet, we are neighbors. Let us hear how your area celebrates it's holidays... or, how you personally celebrate a holiday in your area.

Back to Labor Day;

Labor Day in the U.S. tends to be a day for taking a trip to the lake or some recreational area for some fun. Roads are busy with people trying to get to their favorite "spot" for enjoying some end of summer recreation. It can get a bit busy at resorts and such places, but if you enjoy yourself, it's worth the hassle.

Personally, I plan to sit at home and let the rest of the people hassle with the lakes and recreational areas. :) I'll watch the TV, read some mail and enjoy the day with my family. Pretty boring, but it's Labor day and should be enjoyed however you celebrate. After all, we've all "labored" for it in one way or the other. :-))

Happy Labor Day to all. Even if you don't celebrate Labor day in your area, I hope your day is good. <smile>
