Re: HeadsUp - FidoNet.Org DNS Expires 26-Feb-2001

Hello Warren.

Has anyone discussed the fact that the domain name for FidoNet.Org expires within the month of February 2001?

The current "who is" states:

01/23/01 23:00:11 whois fidonet.org

Query: fidonet.org
Registry: whois.networksolutions.com Results:

   Harrisburg, PA 17112
   US

   Domain servers in listed order:

   DNS1.PAONLINE.COM 216.220.160.7
   DNS2.PAONLINE.COM 216.220.160.8

I was curious is someone is going to renew the domain name of FIDONET.ORG again before it is stolen away from the FidoNet when it expires?

Once the domain name is stolen, it would be very difficult to get it back into FidoNet without paying some large fee to the new DNS holder!

Here are a few domain names which use fidonet:

If someone has some info about this action, it would be nice to know that this is no longer a FidoNet crisis waiting to happen.

Thanks...
