EditorialHello to all Fidoland, well we f-i-n-a-l-l-y got past the USA Presidential election this week... thank God! Now, perhaps, we can get some resolution to the Zone one election shortly. <G> They both have dominated the scene in North America long enough IMHO. Next issue of the Snooze should have the announcement of the elected Z1C, barring a run-off. Fido-is-a-changing! We all need to pitch in to help develop the best possible changes for our survival in this high tech communication network. If we don't, there is a possibility that the ICQ, IRC, AOL, MS, Netscape "messengers" will steal our client users. When they get enough members, you can expect they will almost simultaneously incorporate fees per month, maybe even per message. So hang tight, the battle is just begun in that arena... Speaking of battles, it is hard to understand sometimes how things like rules for an election can get so screwed up in interpretation. below is a good example and explanation by Carol: (17651) Fri 15 Dec 00 6:39p *** Quoting Lesley-Dee Dylan from a message to Jerry Schwartz *** JS> Doing this when an election is actually pending is much LD> THERE WAS NO UNANIMOUS AGREEMENT! You missed something there. To have an election that was outside the requirements of P4, required unanimous agreement, and we didn't get it A zone policy may fix it but we cant get one enacted before 5JAN01. xxcarol |
