Does anyone out there now have a webpage going for Region 14? The previous one disappeared [along with the FidoNet History project] when Marge Robbins retired from FidoNet without notice.

Is there a page for Region 15? And what about John Mudge [REC17]? Did he get kidnapped?

I understand the concept of burnout but not the concept of disappearing without at least a minimal "So long" or "Get bent" on the way out so folks can adjust links or displays. That's just rude and there is never any excuse for being rude according to my mother. Must be upbringing or a lack thereof?

And speaking of upbringing, WHY do we still not have an International Coordinator in FidoNet? If we had 7 Zones instead of 6 [and we sure need another Zone], there couldn't be any deadlocks over politics or personalities. Unfortunately, FidoNet used to be a cooperative and friendly network and the founders didn't visualize this petty deadlock we've been engaged in for YEARS!

And speaking of coming back from the dead ... the FTSC seems to have reconstructed and reorganized as indicated in the article below to that effect. Now, if they just get a blessing from Tom Jennings [he's at: tomj@wps.com, guys] for this effort, I can change the FTSC listing from the current mirror of the old Nugent site to the new FTSC site. That would represent a potential bright spot in an otherwise dreary same old.

For those of you who read Russian, there is a Russian version of FidoNews available, now. Check out the Letters to the Editor. It's not a translation of this thing. It is their own newsletter. More power to them!

Also note a new addition to the Future History list. We're just a year away from the International BBS Week celebration. Watch here for updates and information. If they get a website going, I'll list it in the FidoNet by Internet section.

The Echomail weenies are still fighting and arguing about elections and distributions and who's censoring who. Some things never change.
